WASATCH BACK RELAY RACE
I survived!!! For those of you that have never heard of this race it is a Relay race that consists of 12 people per team. You have 2 vans 6 in each van. We started the race in Logan on Friday morning, and ended the race in Park City Saturday afternoon. Lots of running, no sleep, sweat, laughs, tears, puke, heat, rain, matching outfits, satisfaction, and a scoop of accomplishment. This was a hard thing for me. I am not normally a runner( just a wannabe) but I pushed myself through the training and reached mileage that I never thought I could. It was a fabulous experience. Although our team started out as couples, it didn't end up turning out that way. Karas hubby Brandon got hurt a few months back so we had to replace him and the week before the race my hubby Brandt hurt his knee. He was so bummed... as was I. Luckily we were able to find someone in that short amount of time to replace him. Brandt was able to take me up to the race and also was present before our second legs, and picked me up in Park City with the kids. I was glad he could be apart of it as much as he could. I will give you a little run down of my race.
This is the start of the race. I was runner number 4. I ran a total of 13.1 miles. My first leg was 5.1 miles and was a little difficult for me. I wouldn't say running up hill is my favorite .
Leg #1 finished!!!!
Starting leg #2. This leg was in Morgan and it was 4.2 miles. It was around 10:00 p.m. so I had to wear all the night gear.
Leg #2 Complete!
It is now Saturday and I am getting ready to run my third leg. I think that I might have fallin asleep for about an hour, if that. My legs are tired and I have a HUGE blister that kills by now. The run was really pretty it was by Jordanelle Reservoir and a down hill run that was 3.8 miles. I enjoy the down hill runs. It was a good run!
