Beckem the Bodacious Pirate Boy

Cute little Scallywags!

Beckems first time out Trick-or-Treating. I guess it wasn't so much trick-or-treating. It was more like, "Look at me in my Pirate Costume." I had to show this cute little pirate off!!

Preslies Class Party

Preslies teacher Mrs. Syversen asked me to be in charge of a Halloween party for her class. You all know how I love to throw parties. I have to admit, I was a little burned out when it came time to plan this one. I kept telling myself one more party and then November will be a chill month. So I bucked up and put some ideas together and came up with a cute little party. The kids seemed to like it. We had 5 stations. We played Batty Bingo, Pumpkin bowling, made these darling spiders that Des helped out with, made graveyard cups to eat and played Musical Witch. I love being able to help out in Preslies classroom.

Miles Halloween Party

We love getting together with our family. Thanks to Robyn and Grandma they made this happen. They had a Halloween party at Grandmas house and we were all able to dress up. We ate some good food and played lots of fun games. This year as you can see, our family went with the Pirate theme. Mayci got a kick out of saying ARRRRRGH, and WALK THE PLANK. We had a lot of fun pretending we were pirates this year.

Robyn and Chandler were clowns and cute little Miles was a Jack in the Box. Devin, Katey and Braxon were scary skeletons. Katey made those costumes, she is quite the artist. Aaron, Brita, Brogan and Kamree were all characters from a story book (Brita is the actual story book.) Grandma is a cute nurse taking care of her patient(Grandpa) who is all bandaged up due to his shoulder surgery. Everyone did a great job with their costumes. Gotta love Halloween Parties!

PRESLIE IS SIX! or sixteen?

Happy Birthday to our sweet Preslie who is such a wonderful little girl. We love birthdays around here! Growing up, my parents always made me feel so special on my birthday and I loved that. So, I like to make a big deal about birthdays around here. We started off Thursday morning with Preslies favorite breakfast. We pulled out the birthday dishes and set up the card table in the kitchen for something different. She chose french toast and bacon. She asked for pink milk although she had never had that. I don't think she will choose that for next year. We opened presents and got ready for school. She wanted to take Lofthouse cookies for her class that was decorated like Halloween. She came home from school and had a birthday party with friends from school and the neighborhood. Preslie chose a pink pirate party since she was being a pink pirate for Halloween. The following day she went to dance and took her dance friends stickers and pink gum and then we ate at The Pizza Factory. That is Preslies favorite place to eat. Saturday we had a Halloween party at Grandma and Grandpa Miles house so we celebrated her birthday with her cousins and aunt and uncles all dressed up in their Halloween gear. Sunday we went to Grandma and Grandpa Susaeta's house and had dinner and celebrated Preslies birthday with all of her other cousins, aunt, uncles and her Great Grandpa Susaeta. What a fun filled weekend of birthday parties.
The pink Pirate Birthday Party

I made pink pirate patches with pink glitter and cut out bandannas for all the pirates. The kids took home treasure sacks that were filled with pink items.

The whole pirate crew.

Preslie is not a fan of birthday cakes and LOVES doughnuts. I had Madbrook Doughnuts whip me up some pink doughnuts for the party in place of a birthday cake.

The kids had a Pirate Relay race and earned different kind of pink candies. They started off by walking the plank backwards, finding the gold coins in a pool filled with bubbles, dropping goldfish into little skull cups, kicking cannonballs (black balloons) into the soccer net, catching bones in the hot tub, and finding skeleton heads that were hidden in the front yard in the bushes and trees. The kids had a great time. They enjoyed using their pirate lingo.

All the girls, striking a pose.

WITCH PAR TAY

Tonya and Amy have done it again. They had their annual witch party. It was pretty "witchin" cool. Marla, Des and I saw this glittery witches shoe at Dear Lizzy. Des came up with the great idea for us to glitter our shoes all a different color and we went from there.
Marla got busy on our shoes and spider necklaces and our skirts arrived (barely) in time for the party. Our Costumes were a success and we named us "The Hocus Pocus Girls."

Preslie was asked to help open the doors at the party. She was so excited to dress up and be apart of the shindig. She got to hang with her mom and all mom's friends.

We went on a little scavenger hunt. I'm proud to say my team WON!!!! I'm not really that competitive.

I'm looking forward to seeing all my witch friends next year! Also looking forward to eating all the wonderful food that was served there. YUM! YUM!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US!

My friend Marla and I have birthdays just a week apart from each other. So for Marlas 35th birthday and my 31st birthday our boys sent us to Las Vegas for a little shopping. Or should I say A LOT of shopping. I didn't know it was possible to shop for 3 days straight. I learned real quickly after being introduced to the shopping in VEGAS. You could shop forever there.
You could also eat forever their too. Has anyone had the FROZEN HOT CHOCOLATE from Serendipity? HOLY CRAP!!!! This is a dessert I would fly to Vegas to have and then fly home. It was AMAZING!!

Thanks Marla for such a fabulous trip to Vegas, and most of all thanks to my sweet husband that sent me there and played Mr. Mom for the weekend. I love being 31, it ROCKS!

Pumpkin Patch

Mayci is enjoying her first year of Pre-school with Ms. Sarah. Especially when she takes her class to the Pumpkin Patch. I think Mayci is scoping out which pumpkin she wants while riding on the tractor.
And it looks like she found the one she wanted. Instant Love.
Preslie has school in the afternoon so she was able to join us.

Trace and Mayci riding on the animal train over and over and over.

PIRATE PARTY

AHOY MATES! This Pirate Party will go down in history. What a fun night with fun people. Des, Marla and I threw a Pirate party for 14 couples at my house. AHRRRR!

The invites were sent out early enough for a count on how many people would be coming. They were sent in bottles with sand sea shells with the invitation burnt around the edges.

Our shipmates arrived and had to find there seats with their pirate names awaiting them.

Dinner was served! Yummy Ribs, chicken, coleslaw, corn, apples, baked beans, corn bread, and Root beer. All the food had a pirate name to go along with it as well.

After dinner we sent the Scallywags on a Treasure Hunt.

The treasure hunt started off dividing the pirates into 5 teams. Then they were sent out looking for Captain Jacks lost treasure and clues. They started off putting a puzzle together to find out Captain Jacks friends name which was Royal Connly Willey. They quickly jumped into cars and headed to R.C. Willey. They found a deck of cards there and found out that Captain Jack was not liked because of his Bluffing. They then set sail to the Bluff Park where they had to find skull heads in the trees. After finding the skull heads they were directed to Little Cesar's then to Spare Time because the pirates thought it was time to spare his life. After getting the clue from Spare Time they headed to Captain Barkers home where there were skull heads awaiting on the diving board where Captain Jack was told to walk the Plank. They found a note from captain Jack that sent the pirates to his lost treasure in the Hansens back yard where they had to dig in their garden to find the treasure.

This is the team that found the treasure. They were each awarded with $20 gift cards to different places around Syracuse City.

My hot pirate.

The girls that made this happen!

All of the girly pirates.

The Pirate men.

The Whole Crew. We ended the night with doughnuts and hot chocolate. A Fun night for sure!

A Day at the Zoo

There is nothing better than being with your family on your birthday. My mom and dad had work off and decided to take all the grand kids to the zoo and see ALL the new baby animals.
Welocme baby ZURI. She was so cute and playful. We could have watched her all day. She was so entertaining.

Not the best picture of the new baby giraffe. If you look close enough you can see the baby standing next to its mom.

The carousal ride was a hit for all the kids.

I loved how this bear was just chillin. Beckem got a kick out of it as well.

The day at the zoo ended with a train ride which the kids loved. Choo! Choo! Thanks mom and dad for a fun day at the ZOO!

Dino Park

While Brandt and I were in Lake Powell the girls had a chance to earn stickers by helping out and being good for the babysitters. If they earned all their stickers and filled up their charts I told them I would take them to the Dinosaur park. They filled them up and we packed up the car and headed to the park with some friends. Preslie has been off track and has enjoyed spending time at home, playing with friends and going on a few little adventures like the dino park.
The kids enjoyed feeding the ducks. Even Beckem liked watching them.

I think the kids spent more time at the park then actually walking around looking at all the dinosaurs.

The park was decorated cute. They had it all ready for Halloween.
