This is not what you want to deal with the first week of your little guys life.
Beckem went to his five day appointment and he has jaundice. His billy
rubin test came back at a 18.7, which is high. They sent the suitcase of lights to our home for him to bake in for a while. O.K. every minute of the day unless he is eating or getting his diaper changed. I am having
with drawls because I just want to hold and cuddle my baby. The good news is that we went and had his levels checked again today and they have come down. He is 13.6. We still have to keep him under the lights and feed him every two hours. We will be checking him again tomorrow. We hope that it continues to go down as it did today.

The girls were very concerned for their brother. They don't understand why he has to live in this funny suitcase. We love you baby
Beckem.

So sad! Summer had to be under the lights her first night and I felt withdrawals too. I am glad his levels are going down. At least he will have a cool story to tell one day. "I used to sleep in a suitcase".
Oh, baby Beckem! He looks like he is tolerating his little tanning bed, though. How are your nips' doing? Every 2 hours, huh? All I gotta say is, OWEEE! Hang in there!
Love,
Monica
How sad! Feeding every two hours is never fun, but it does help them. I had to do that with Bella and it was awful at 2 and 4 in the morning!
Poor buddy! Sami had to be in the billi blanket and it's hard to hold them in that too. It's so sad to see your little one have to just lie there! I hope he gets out soon!!!
So sad for baby Beckem . . . and YOU! Well at least he'll be a cute little tan baby for a while :). Hopefully he continues to get better.
so sad.. little crew had that two but at the hospital so i didn't have to deal with it at home... but, the poor blood draws too.... poor baby.... hang in there... and, he looks so cute... is he a good baby??
Oh he is the cutest little boy ever! Congratulations! I heard you went all natur-al! Amazing woman you are! Poor little baby to have to be in the bili-box! Poor mom to have to watch him in it! I can't wait to come up to see him. We have colds here, so we will stay away for a little longer! Love ya, and miss ya!
p.s. Your cousin Jolyn's little boy played t-ball against Collin's team last night. He's a good little player. I never got his name because she just kept calling him "little monster". Funny.
So sad! Tol was in a billi-bed for the first week we were home. It SUCKED!!! I feel for ya. The funny thing is whenever someone sees a newborn pic of him they all say he has such an awesome olive complexion. Nope. My fair-skinned child was just extremely jaundice.
*Monica is hilarious...
I am so sorry I know how hard that is. Jackson had to be under the lights for a week. It sucked, cause all that you want to do is cuddle the cute little angel. It is so funny cause even though it is only for a couple of days it feels like forever. Well good luck with his appointment. I know that it sucks to have to go and get his little heel pricked one more time:(
