Mayci can ski...

We took the girls up to Wolf Mountain for a little ski night. This was Mayci's first time to ski and pretty much my first time. Brandt spent time with her teaching her "french fries" and "pizza." After a few runs Mayci decided she wanted a break. Her and Brandt got themselves a hot chocolate and had a rest in the lodge. After sitting in the lodge for a bit Mayci said, "C'mon dad, let's go ski." Brandt said it was like something clicked for her. She was wanting to race Barandt and did awesome. We were so impressed with our Mayci! Now for me, it was a different story. Brandt sent me on my way with no instructions. Preslie had gone a few times last year and he sent me with her (my six year old.) First I tried the magic carpet. The Magic Carpet is like this conveyor belt thing that you stand on and it goes down this tiny little hill. Well, Preslie got on the belt and I tried to get on right behind her and I fell. The belt is moving with a slight incline. I have my skis on and can not get up. Preslie is standing in front of me looking back telling me to stand up. I then saw Brandt and started yelling his name. He ran to my rescue and pulled me up. Sorry Preslie for embarrassing you on the magic carpet. After that awesome experience, Brandt told me to take Preslie on the lift. So Preslie and I head over to the lift and we start going up. I then started panicking, thinking that we were on the wrong lift. The hill looked much to big for a beginner hill. I kept thinking, I don't know how to save myself coming down this hill let alone save my daughter if she needs help. I was reading every sign as we got closer to the top. Preslie was so worried about me and was my cute little coach. She reminded me to keep my ski tips lifted as we get off the lift. Luckily we made it off the lift with no falls. Preslie went zoomin down the hill with her mom behind her in Pizza stance. I began getting the hang of it especially after Preslie took me in the half pipe. It was so fun and I can't wait to ski again. Thanks Brandt, Preslie and Mayci for a fun ski night.
